Job functions

The Engineering Manager will lead a squad at Platzi, ensuring quality and efficiency in technical product development, and fostering the growth of the engineering team. This role will collaborate closely with the Product Manager, Product Designer, and other business domain managers.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering team, ensuring the fulfillment of established objectives and goals.
• Prioritize the team's work and collaborate with the Product Manager and Product Designer to define the product's technical features.
• Ensure that the engineering team meets the required technical levels and engineering best practices helping them grow.
• Collaborate with other Managers within the domain to ensure cohesion and success of the company's products.
• Encourage the growth and development of the engineering team members.
• Manage the hiring process for the team, ensuring the incorporation of the best talents into the team.

Qualifications and requirements

• 3+ years experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role.
• 3+ years experience in Backend, preferably with Python/Django and related technologies.
• Solid knowledge of software engineering, architecture, and web technologies.
• System design experience. Cloud Computing AWS (desirable), Azure or GCP, serverless elastic computing, high availability and high concurrency system design.
• Ability to lead and motivate a high-performing technical team.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with other departments and managers within the business domain.
